About us
The idea for the club was born as a result of a few local kids that wanted to surf regularly with their friends but were too young to go alone. So we decided to set up a club.
As a result Westward Ho! Grom Club was founded in 2007.
The club is for groms from 8-14yrs who aren’t total beginners and who can surf ‘a little bit’ already but want to take their surfing on to the next level.
In 2010 the club merged with the North Devon Surf School to benefit from the coaching wisdom of Justin (BSA Level 4 instructor/coach) and Keith (BSA Level 2 instructor). The club now meet every Saturday at the surf school where members are coached to their next level.
The cost of membership is now £60 per season (May-Oct).
